Business Development Director

The Director of Business Development will develop, hire, and serve as the leader of our business development department. He/She will select the model of their choosing that will best serve the Calvert Street Group. Additionally, he/she will serve as lead developer to the company and advise Executives on all business development opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop model for and oversee business development department
  • Develop and implement business development plan budget with CEO and COO
  • Learn the ins and outs of business and be able to pitch Calvert Street services accurately to potential clients
  • Work alongside executive team to devise outreach strategies
  • Identify and pursue potential project leads
  • Attend industry trade shows to expand network of potential and current clients
  • Assist Marketing Director on mass mailing projects (such as pre-conference outreach, email newsletters, annual holiday cards, etc)
  • Attend meetings, meet deadlines, draft reports
  • Draft and edit project proposals

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of high-level business development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree – or higher – with a strong academic resume and GPA
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, research and interpersonal skills
  • Exemplary writing and editing skills
  • Detail oriented and a strong work ethic
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
