Calvert Street Group is thrilled to announce its newest campaign team consultant, Dan Kelly. Kelly is a top US campaign manager and consultant who has helped candidates, political parties and advocacy clients in eleven US states and six countries. His experience includes management of nearly three hundred full time staff, responsibility for budgets as large as $9M and a track record of winning difficult races. Outside of electoral politics, Dan has led successful issue campaigns including national lobbying efforts for Social Security and Medicare issues, public health campaigns and campaigns for corporate clients including a top rideshare app.
“We could not be more excited about the knowledge and possibilities Dan is bringing to Calvert Street Group,” said Managing Director, Darden Copeland. “With his experience and well-rooted relationships with political leaders across the globe, we are sure to expand our area of expertise.”
His field organizing experience includes running two successful coordinated field campaigns and serving as Executive Director of a state party, leading field programs that helped elect the first re-election of Democratic Governor and flipped control of the WI legislature in Wisconsin, flipped the Virginia State Senate to Democratic control on behalf of Governor Tim Kaine, and protected Democratic seats in Connecticut in a difficult special election for Democrats.
Since 2012, Dan has focused on international clients, organizing successful political campaigns, advising national candidates and political parties, and providing high quality training and consultation to campaign teams. In his international work, he advised political parties and candidates for President and Prime Minister in five countries. Dan is one of a handful of US consultants with significant experience in recent Filipino election splitting his time between the US and Manila over the last two consecutive election cycles.
At Calvert Street, Dan will be focusing on land use and corporate clients, helping clients in the Midwest, and expanding our capacity to help international clients with their land use and corporate political challenges.
