Calvert Street Group Founder and Managing Director Darden Copeland announced today former VOX Global executive Bob Corney has joined the Calvert Street Group as senior vice president. Corney had served with VOX since 2008 in a variety of roles including senior counsel to telecommunications clients and manager of the firm’s healthcare practice. Previously, he served as communications director for Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen, leading communications strategy for major policy initiatives in education, healthcare and the state’s financial management. Those efforts contributed to an historic 95-county re-election victory for Governor Bredesen in 2006.

A native of Nashville, Corney is a graduate of Washington University in St Louis, Missouri and began his career working on political campaigns in Tennessee in the late 1980’s. He became a field representative for Tennessee Senator Al Gore, Jr. and was deputy director of advance in the office of the Vice President.
